BDO Partners Lead Delegates to the 2008 PICPA International Conference

Don Danao, Partner, and Chair of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Metro Manila Regional (MMR) Council, led the delegates and guests to the 5th MMR International Conference on Cruise, from May 17 to 22, 2008. Another Partner, Ruby Seballe, President-Elect of the PICPA Southern Metro Manila Chapter, attended the said Conference.

The conference theme was ‘BEYOND ACCOUNTING’ and was conducted onboard the ‘Asian Super Star Aquarius’ which sailed to Singapore, Penang (Malaysia) and Phuket (Thailand). The conference is an integral part of PICPA’s program to help members enhance their technical competence and reinforce the importance of the role of CPA’s in the ever changing and challenging global economy.

Working hand in hand with the PICPA President Andres R. Cabuyadao, Mr. Danao’s MMR Council lined up technical sessions that dealt with global accounting trends and practices and other relevant subjects, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), valuation trends, Information Technology, internal audits and governance/Sarbanes Oxley Law’s impact on the Accounting profession.
